HAYWARD, Alameda County — November 4, 2026. Two contested Hayward Area Recreation and Park District board wards have different leaders following the November 3 election.
Unofficial county returns
In Ward 2, Sara Lamnin leads Amanda Alysia Daniels with 3,713 votes (58.37%) to 2,648 (41.63%). In Ward 4, Paul W. Hodges Jr. leads Joseph “Joe” Giltner, 5,058 (56.31%) to 3,924 (43.69%).
Why this local race matters
These seats govern a regional recreation and parks district rather than Hayward City Council. The ward counts must remain separate: 47 precincts were partially reporting in Ward 2 and 70 in Ward 4. The county labels the results unofficial and will certify them only after its canvass.
The source is the Alameda County Registrar of Voters report updated at 2:07 a.m. November 4, 2026. Results labeled “unofficial final” mean the last election-night bulletin, not a certified election outcome. The county may add valid ballots during the canvass.
