HAYWARD — November 3, 2026. Mark Salinas led Tom Wong in the first mail-ballot snapshot reviewed by California58, according to Alameda County’s 8:49 p.m. election-night results. Salinas had 13,157 votes (75.84%); Wong had 4,191 (24.16%).

The reported margin was 8,966 votes. It is a margin within the ballots reported at that time, not a prediction about the final count.

In District 1, George Syrop had 1,934 votes (57.92%), ahead of Brian M. Schott’s 1,405 (42.08%). The separate District 6 table listed Julie Roche with 2,917 votes and 100% of the candidate votes shown.

A table showing one candidate at 100% is not evidence that all registered voters participated or that processing is complete. The county’s reporting status and the date of the release remain essential to interpreting every contest.

This is an incomplete mail-ballot count

The Alameda County Registrar of Voters labels the November 3, 2026, 8:49 p.m. Pacific release preliminary/unofficial, vote-by-mail results only. No vote-center precincts had reported in this snapshot. That does not mean no ballots were counted: the tables show processed mail ballots.

Percentages are shares of reported candidate votes, not estimates of the proportion of the final electorate counted. Later vote-center returns, additional mail ballots and verification may change totals and margins. These figures are a dated snapshot; consult the linked registrar’s page for later releases. This article does not project a winner or describe the tally as certified.
